Hey Team,
For all of you not racing this weekend I am going to reccomend a rest
period. Now that the collegiate season is over for most of the team
this is a good time to take some time off the bike or at least some
non structured riding. The more burnt you are on riding the more time
you should take off the bike. I usually take two weeks to a month off
the bike (if it is two weeks I ride twice a week and if it is a month
I ride 3 times a week). If you don't feel like riding try walking,
running, swimming, rollerblading, etc. One thing to remember is that
there is a USCF season still going on so I would HIGHLY reccomend
doing at least 2-3 USCF races a month during your summer break. This
is the best way at improving your racing skills. You can find most
races on
socalcycling.com or on NCNCA.org. (socal and norcal racing).
I know some riders on the team would like to continue to progress this
summer and get ready for next season so I am sure we will have a
meeting at some time and we can discuss as much of this as possible.
