Hi All,

Please look at http://www.ipam.ucla.edu/programs/rips2007/ and see
whether this program might be the right REU-like activity for you
this coming summer. It has to do with real-world problems that help
industrial partners. In a recent summer (2005, I think), students
modeled the flow of ketchup for an animated film. It's at UCLA,
which some might think of as a negative (go Bears!). On the other
hand, it supports international students as well as citizens and
permanent residents. In fact, some of the students come from abroad.

This program has been going for around 5 years. Quite a few UCB
students have been selected.
