Tycoon down time

Hi all,
The tycoon service location service and bank will be down from 8:00 AM
PST Dec. 11 until 8:00 AM PST Dec. 12 for software upgrades. Our
apologies if this causes any disruptions. We will be switching over to
more scalable implementations of the SLS and bank, and to a more secure
and efficient remote procedure call (RPC) protocol.
Host administrators should do a "yum update" on 12/11 to upgrade to the
new version.

I neglected to give the UTC time in my previous mail. The down time will
be from 16:00 UTC Dec 11 to 16:00 UTC Dec 12.

The DNS mapping updates for the Tycoon banks and SLS seem to be taking a
while, so I'm going to extend the downtime to 16:00 UTC Dec 13. The good
news is that we've released version 0.5.0 of Tycoon to the yum
repositories for FC3 (client only), FC4, and FC5. I'll send the release
notes to the user's mailing list later this week.

Okay, the DNS mappings are complete. It may take a few hours before TTLs
expire and the new mappings propagate around the world. We now have a
new bank and SLS. I have also upgraded the HP machines to version 0.5.0.
The auxiliary monitoring services will come up shortly.
I recommend that everyone do a "yum update" to upgrade to 0.5.0 since
the new auctioneer, clients, and SLS are not backwards compatible with
older versions. All virtual machine state will be preserved, so no data
should be lost.
