Contra dancing in the NRV

Fellow Dancers,
The 2019/2020 dance season is upon us!! I hope that you are as excited about our local dances as I am. We are fortunate to have so many great musicians and callers grace our halls.
These dances don’t just happen. There are many volunteers that help support our dances (hall management, sound, bookings, marketing, providing lodging to the talent, etc.). We also need to pay our talent and for the dance venues. This means that if dancers do not attend the dances, our groups lose money. Unfortunately, attendance has been down the past couple of years. Thus, if you want our local dances to continue, please come and bring your family, friends and co-workers. Talk about the joy of contra dancing to anyone who will listen. J If you would like flyers to distribute (hard copy or electronically), just let me know.
The first Floyd dance will be on Saturday September 14th and the first Blacksburg dance will be on Saturday September 21st. See below for details on each dance. Please note the temporary venue change for the Floyd dance.
