Wonder how much a transponder could cost, and what the heck would most people even do with one?
I have one from EZ Pass that they gave me some years ago. That works slick for toll roads out east.

Hi Jim,
I think they sell for $300-$400 new, they are used on race bikes to
record laps and speeds. Most race tracks make it mandatory to use
them if you want to compete.
