Dear TurboCASH Consultant

TurboCASH is now a major Accounting platform, with registrations running at Hundreds per week. We get many users wanting to switch from commercial systems where they are finding the restrictions of closed code and licence fees prohibitive. Unfortunately, we can't take on the problems of the world, but we can take on some of them.

We have to date worked on  the fact that only old Pastel users would want to convert to TurboCASH. So we have a working Pastel 5.22 to TurboCASH converter. However the last 2 years have seen significant improvements in TurboCASH, particularly in multi user,  Interface, web interface and banking interface. It seems that the lure of Open Source is biting some of our long suffering accounting brethren.  We are getting an ever increasing number of requests for conversions of later versions of Pastel.. We have now developed a converter for  Pastel 6, Pastel Express, Pastel 2004, and  Pastel 2005. We would like to release this in January and  would like to run some tests.

If you have any sets of Pastel books in the above categories and would like to participate in the beta test, please email them to me phi...@pinksoft.co.za  (under 1 MB) or arrange with me to give you details of our FTP directory.

I would like your input on how we market this plugin. It does require some human tweaking for each set of books, so our Current thinking is to market it at "R 1000 per conversion", this would then give us a dealer margin of R 350 for you., the TurboCASH Consultant.

Our thinking is to make the transition easy is to bring over Accounts, Debtors, Creditors, Stock and Aged Balances. We would leave the transactions, documentation history behind. We also do not bring in reports.

We could also licence certain consultants to be centres for conversions. If you think you will have a high volume for this and you  are interested in this you should contact me on this. phi...@pinksoft.co.za

Are there any of you interested in SAGE and Quickbooks conversions?

We have a Mickey Mouse QB converter, but could complete this.

We have not yet begun a SAGE conversion, but there should be a really good market for this.
