I am purposely using a different subject, text, etc. from my previous
query email because, ya know, I don't want Google's artificial stupidity
to AGAIN put ANOTHER email into that other T-H-R-E-A-D even though it's
not a reply, and to change that other T-H-R-E-A-D-'S subject again.

You can tell it's artificial stupidity when people have to go out of
their way to keep it from taking the initiative to do the wrong thing!

Does anyone have anything to say about what resources they think
are possibly best for this purpose? Even for people who like certain
styles of L-E-A-R-N-I-N-G?

Anyway, sorry about the profusion of redundant-ish emails, but it's
partly Google's fault.

This email should change the thread name in Google Groups' web interface.

If you want to sit down with a book, check out Pro Django by Marty Alchin. It is comprehensive and dives quite a bit deeper into how Django works. The author starts with a couple of introductory chapters: Django basics (models, views, urls, templates), and a chapter on Python but with an eye toward the features that Django makes heavy use of (metaclasses, descriptors, decorators...). Then you jump into the detailed chapters on Models, Views, Forms, Templates, and HTTP Request/Response objects. The book closes with a few chapters on building applications and techniques that I think are advanced and somewhat esoteric if you're trying to learn Django. I do think these would be useful to return to at some point, but aren't at all helpful for getting things done or coming to grips with how Django approaches MVC.

Also check out the "What's Next" page for the Django docs...maybe that will steer you in a satisfactory direction.

Alas there isn't much control we have over the inner workings of google Groups, though as you discovered a sufficiently different subject line should do the trick.
