Hey folks,

I'll be out of town Monday, May 13. So who would like to organize a meeting? For those of you who are new although we have a listserv, a website, a Facebook and a Google+ page, and a Twitter account, we are not formally organized. Anyone who would like to participate or organize feel free to step up to the plate. This laid back approach has worked out well for us. We do get a regular but small attendance at our meetings, and pretty good discussion as well as talks.

We've discovered that a lot of people disappear during the summer (June, July & August) so I encourage meetups at a local watering hole. However, if we do get more people to participate that can be changed.

Saw this posted in the Python Community in Google+. Might be of interest to some of you.

Anyone feel like meeting up downtown at the new gangplank location
(100 north stone suite 110/17 Pennington st)? There lots of bars
close by too.

Due to lack of response, let's skip this month.

Sorry, Ben!

Let's go back in time and pretend this was said:

"Sounds great, but I'll be out of town. I will have disappeared by the time you read this on May 13, 2013."

This presumptive past self seems to have an uncanny precognitive ability.

Maybe we should investigate Meetup.com and get the PSF to kick in for the dues.

Would anyone actually use the RSVP functionality?
Would that help?

For the last 24 hours I've had schedule conflicts stacking up like
airliners over a busy airport, each saying "Pick me! Pick me!" :-)
