We are using Lot to manage individual Product serial numbers, both for purchased items and form manufactured items. For supplier shipments we can use the Split module to divide batches into individual products with serial numbers, but in Inventories the Split button is not available. Any thoughts on the best way to manage inventories to a unique serial-numbered-product level of detail? e.g. if I do a stock-take and I have a discrepancy in quantity, how do I move to Lost and Found the correct 'missing' serial number?

Since 3.0, a lot field exists on inventory line:

Yes, Lot field is available, but not the "Split" function.

I can manually add extra line item products with quantity of 1, but it would be good to be able to "Split" a larger quantity into 'n' lines of qty=1 in the same was as we can on Supplier Shipments.  It is not possible to split the Moves after checking Inventory because there is no Draft state for the Inventory Moves, they are just created as Done when the Inventory is confirmed. It is workable as-is, but possibly something to consider for further enhancement?

If we use Internal Shipments we can use Split and Lot - maybe this is a better way of resolving Inventory discrepancies with serial number tracking?

But ideally it would be better to see the Serial numbers (Lot) automatically listed in the Inventory, when creating an Inventory using the "Create Inventories" Action. At the moment the Lot column is not populated even if products exist that have related Lot values.
