Well, it was certainly very diplomatic of you to post the other side of
the story (and only that side, apparently, as you haven't linked to
what the ISUPK has to say on the issue - which makes me wonder: do they
even have a website? a blog?).
Anyway, it is not exactly a free speech issue, as far as I can see. The
relevant blog seems to support the right of the ISUPK preachers to
preach on that corner, but he is in favor of having their amplifiers
silenced. Such a move would not exactly stifle free expression, though
I suppose this is an issue for the courts to deliberate and decide on.
I will, however, note, that the ICUPK (which was once one with the
ISUPK) and other like-minded splinter groups (House of David's Church,
House of Israel, the Israelite Church of God and Jesus Christ) used to
preach with loud speakers on the streets of New York City in the 90s,
but now that seems to have stopped. They still preach (in Times Square,
in Downtown Brooklyn, in Jamaica Queens, in Union Square, in front of
Macy's on 34th, et cetera), but I don't recall seeing a loud speaker
for years.
And by the way, Qabalahmath, I still look forward to any
comments/replies you (or your High Priests) might have regarding the
other posts I have submitted to this thread (on the subject of ISUPK
Biblical exegesis).
