Hopefully this is a simple one for once as I'm having a brain cramp and can't remember this...

When displaying a table column that I allow the users to click - is there a way to create a rollover effect to highlight which one they are on?  I used your previous suggestions to get the column working great with click but I can't seem to figure out how to do a "rollover" or see what  "rollover" looks like.  What are my options for doing this with the data element TYPE> table column with the "auto select" to allow people to click on it?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Brian,

In your Data Element, just to the right of "Auto Select" choose the "On Enter" option.
Then in the "Selection" row, make it "opaque" and choose a colour for the rollover.
Finally, in your "On Data" event make the first pop-up selection something to do with a mouse click/down/up.

These three together allow the rollover to appear but the user choice awaits a mouse click.

I remember Gil advised against using the rollover, but I've found it to be stable enough (mustn't tempt fate that way!).

Rollover (auto select - enter) is fine. The issue I find is a way to do BOTH a rollover effect (cell selects on mouse in) AND stays selected on click. You can do tricks with a number of commands, but no simple solution that I have found... anyone else? For me, I would want:
  • Cells highligh when rolled over
  • Cells highlight when clicked and stay highlighted
  • other cells highlight when rolled over and then it goes back to the selcted cell when mouse leave.
This can all be done with a number of commands of mouse in/out... but it can be a bit lengthy.
