Moonstruck Farms will be joining you again this week, and since Swiss chard is a staple item we have been providing to the extras table lately, and my customers are always asking "what do I do with it" here are some ideas. Besides just adding to your smoothies and juicing recipes you can saute it with your eggs in the morning (always cook the stems first and then add the green leafy section), you can substitute for spinach or kale in any recipe especially your favorite soups or stews, you can steam it or you can use the leaves as a wrap in this recipe. I do believe it will almost fulfill your fiber for the entire day!!

There is also a good chance we will have a lot of green tomatoes with us if Mother Nature does the dive in temperature that is showing in the forecast. Besides substituting for tomatillos in your favorite recipes green tomatoes can be pickled in your refrigerator with water, white vinegar and salt for easy snacking, or you can make a bright and festive gazpacho like this recipe.

Of course we will have our pantry division of mustards, vinegars, jams, jellies and more with us including our Cranberry Mostarda all ready for those leftover turkey sandwiches!
See you soon.
