I am about to build a tree house and wanted to know how trees handle
screws and nails being hammered into them. I plan on doing as little
as possible to the tree but I have seen trees with metal in them that
are very old. I don't want to damage the tree. advice is welcome.

What type of tree is it maple , ash , other that will tell you weather
the tree will heal over or die
