Looking for a recommendation for purchasing and advice on VDO gauges and
senders.

I ordered some through Lauderdale Speedometer and am having a lot of
trouble getting decent customer service. They seem to be real quick to
get you off the phone and when I received my order it was not the
correct items I wanted. I have contacted them a couple of times to have
them send the remaining items and no luck.

I would like a recommendation of a knowledgeable VDO gauge dealer with
good customer service.

Thanks,

Dale Klahn

I've used them for vdo products a couple of times. Good service & prices.

Dale,

Would appreciate it if you would let me know what you find out.

VDO corporate referred me to Lauderdale Speedometer (LS) for help with a
technical question about my rudder angle indicator system. When I called
them, they wouldn't let me talk to their technician and insisited I had
to send them the units which they would then examine and give me a
report, for a fee of course. Apparently, there is no technical help desk
in the VDO North America organization, and they couldn't direct me to
anything like that in Germany.

Also, some time ago there was a rather blatant incidence of LS customer
dis-service described, I believe on this list, which was not
encouraging. The VDO equipment seems to be pretty good, but there sure
isn't much help to be had after the sale.

Bill:

I took Carl Martin's advice and called the folks at egauges.com (Perry,
MI store). The gentleman I spoke with (Don I believe) was helpful
although they don't appear to be specifically "marine" focused, I was
very happy with his willingness to spend time on the phone talking about
options. Give them a call and let me know if you also have a positive
experience. I plan to buy additional gauges and accessories from them
and would be interested to know your outcome.
