Darby was diagnosed and paralized 9/24/04 with TM, she was 5 at the
time. She has made a significant recovey!! She still deals with little
problems, such as costipation, unknown rashes, right-sided pain,
headaches, and the list goes on,on,on. She has had many blood test
for mono, lyme, AIDS, all come back negative. Why is she still having
these pains, and reoccuring, long lasting illnesses? Is there help, or
is this going to be her life from now on? She sees one of the top
Neurologists in Mpls. MN. But he doesn't have the answers, does anyone?

Hello.

I'm sorry that this group doesn't really have a lot of visitors.

That said, I was diagnosed with acute TM in 1997 and have been living
with the same types of symptoms ever since.

All of my tests continue to come back negative. I have just learned to
live with what was left after the onset and initial steroid
treatments.

For the pain, however, I was recently referred by my arthritis doc to
an anesthesiologist who preformed some nerve block procedures to tamp
down the pain.

The nerve block procedures work for about six months.

For the constipation I use a "nuke" called The Magic Bullet.

It works quickly and isn't as messy as other types of suppositories
because it's made with a non-greasy binder.
