Dear friends in Transition,
Brothers and sisters, i am currently going through an exercise in de-cluttering. Slowly i have been filling bag after bag with old books, clothes etc and taking them to the local charity job in the hope they'll find a better home and generate much need funds for charity. Although, it has been slightly insulting to see my clothes, unsold, in the charity shop weeks later. Clearly i have an acquired taste.
This got me thinking!! As part of my own ongoing inner transition work I am planning to get rid of even more useless crap that i have accumulated in the room i rent and at my parents house. So I've been thinking about running a stall at a car boot or something similar (i mean if we had enough sellers we could have our own sale) at which i could promote Transition. Similar to our awareness raising day in Woking Town centre. i would then donate all or a percentage of any monies raised to the transition coffers. even a small stall could tick a few boxes for us
1) Recycling unwanted items
2) Providing low cost clothes items to low income families
3) Raising awareness of transition
4) Raising money for Transition
5) Raising money for ourselves
6) Having fun!
This is just an idea at the moment so I would welcome your thoughts and any offers of support.
Peace and best wishes,
Ben
