Photography & Studio Assistant (Part-Time / Freelance/starting at one day per week)

A photography studio and curatorial practice is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, entry-level Photography & Studio Assistant to support digital, administrative, and studio projects. This role is well suited to someone interested in photography, visual arts, publishing, or archives.

Key Responsibilities

Image Management & Editing

• Process, organize, and maintain photographic files using Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop

• Assist with basic image editing and file preparation

• Maintain clear digital file structures and backups

Communications & Mailing Lists

• Support email newsletters and communications using Mailchimp

• Edit and maintain mailing lists and contact databases

• Assist with formatting announcements and studio updates

Studio & Office Organization

• Maintain an organized studio and office environment

• Assist with document organization, data entry, and light administrative tasks

Design (Bonus)

• Assist with simple graphic design for mailings or small publications as needed

• Familiarity with Bookwright Software and Blurb publishing

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Photoshop and Lightroom

• Familiarity with Mailchimp or similar platforms

• Strong typing, data entry, and organizational skills

• High attention to detail

Preferred

• Basic graphic design skills

• Experience with photographic archiving or cataloging

• Interest in photography, contemporary art, or publishing

Additional Details

• Part-time / freelance; flexible hours; one day a week to start

• In-person work required (studio located outside the city; must have a car)

• Ideal for a recent graduate or early-career arts professional

• Pay scale based on experience.
