Was wondering if any knows where to have a dSLR reliably cleaned (the sensor in particular) in Toronto.

I called Henry's but they said they have to send cameras out (?!) and it takes a few weeks -- not to mention a a hefty pricetag.

Vistek did a nice job on mine for very little money - $25 or so as I recall -

They even demonstrated how to do it, should I wish to buy a kit and do it myself.

Thanks guys.

Dustin - sounds good. Much more reasonable.
Chris, what was the turnaround time? Or did they do it on the spot?

Looks like Canon Canada (in Mississauga) does it with a quick
turnaround, if ya' can get there.

Michael.

Consider the DIY approach?

Vistek has sensor swabs and eclipse fluid for sale, and you can find
tutorials online.

I do it myself all the time. I bought one of those visibledust.com sensor brushes after being in the same situation as you Tanja. It works great and it’s very easy. You can bring your camera and I can show you how to do it or I can do it for you, on the spot, no charge!

Hi Sam,

Which of the visibledust products do you use (I see they have a few)?

Thank you!

I use a Visible Dust brush too.  I went with the Arctic Butterfly (About $70 I think???) and it does a fantastic job.  Combined with a rocket blower for "on-site" quick blasts, I'm golden!

For the record:

I wound up buying the Sensor Sweet brush from Copper Hill: https://secure.copperhillimages.com/index.php?pr=products and did it myself (applause, thank you.)  It was packaged well, clean and appears to work well.
