Just wanted to post a quick note on my most recent use of TS2.

I am a messy person. I live and work in clutter. My PC desktop tends
to fill up with files/icons/folders/etc. Any project or work item of
the moment finds a home on my PC desktop (oddly enough, I don't have
this problem when I work in a Unix environment - not sure why). I know
I should do a better job of using TS2 up front instead of my Desktop,
but I move back and forth between multiple environments and not all of
them have Topicscape.

As of next week, I am changing projects at work and decided to clean
up my current desktop so I can start with a fresh slate. I do this
once or twice a year and it usually involves a significant amount of
time going through each folder and determining whether or not it needs
to be deleted, archived or just relocated. Instead of doing it in my
normal fashion, this time I just created a single folder and moved all
the top level folders and Desktop files into that folder after which I
dragged/dropped my consolidated folders into TS2.

This significantly reduced the amount of time I needed to go through
the various files and folders and made my life much easier. Typically,
I'll spend a half day going through all my folders, today I did it in
about an hour.

So, in addition to all the other things that TS2 is good for, it's
also now my tool of choice when I need to do a little desktop spring
cleaning.

Thanks for letting us know about this way of using Topicscape. You
are one of its long-term users, and this shows how getting familiar
with Topicscape's depth can bring out new ideas and ways of exploiting
the visibility it gives, especially when compared with folders-in-
folders-in-folders . . .

I think I'll be trying this myself!

Oh, and good luck in the new project at work.
