6.00am is just silly Dave.

8.00 is plenty early for the bouly...

And a 7:30AM start at -1c from St.Quentin to Roubaix was silly too but we
did it.
Riding into a north east wind all day was the price we paid for other wise
perfect ParisRoubaix event ,no rain, dry un mudded roads and cobbles that
one could negotiate even at my slow pace.
This event is for those of you that have a little extra weight and power no
doubt that the strong riders who could zip across the tops of the Pavé had
the advantage. Mountain bike riders and cyclocrossers apply here this one
is for you.
However Dave I think with your skill on the mountain bike you would do a
good job too even though you are light.
I'm not soo sure that softer tyre pressues are good on 23/25mm as one guy
in our group Vlad from Moscow, where else, had four punctures and a broken
valve but then he was a bit too heavy at 95kg but very powerfull and was
leading the race at the time of first flat.
For me I had a perfect if not a fast ride no issues with the bike, no
punctures no falls and only one stop a the second feed station.
I clocked 153k five more than the course map but then the Pavé sectors ,18,
were often well out in displayed distance, one 700m section was at least 2k.
The elation was immenens as I maxed on the last 3k into Roubaix and
finished on the Velodrome in 6h 37min with a smile on my face.
I can't say that I was anwhere near competative in age group (60/99)
competition but I gave it my best shot and had a ball.
Cheers, Westly (Paris)

May be uphill section on the Boulevard Pavé was a little help so thanks for
that Dave

G'day,
Tomorrow's ride we will be doing repeats on all the Kew Bouly climbs, and
ensuring we climb 1,000m before breakfast.
Just like this lap <http://connect.garmin.com/activity/163952563> I did on
Monday.
Leaving at 6am, we should be finished well before 7.45, in time for coffee.
Cheers,
DO.
