Dear Mr. MacKillop,
Thank you for your email. It is the first one I've ever received. That is finely machined instrument you play! I've never seen such a thing. And how those strings bear the tension of that high pitch you use! Where could you have found them?

With this brief note, I'd like you to know that there is no turning in the grave for me. I am honored that you would use your banjo to play my namesake breakdown. However, to hear it causes some regret that I caught the fever whilst crossing that damned Isthmus. Oh! I would have enjoyed playing just a little more banjo music!

Your obedient servant,
Tom Briggs

Hi Tom,

Let me be the first to say that we're thrilled to have you here. Your
posthumus method book gives us an invaluable window into the period
banjo style.

Say, while I've got you here, and I know you must be tired, being dead
for these past 153 years or so, but I was wondering, the last four
measures of "Darkey Fishers Hornpipe," did you mean to write it like
that, or is that a typographical error?

Just wondering,
Your friend,

Carl Anderton
