Position Summary:

The Lead Consultant will take a leadership technical position in the
analysis, design and implementation of large-scale enterprise network
management initiatives including Network Management Systems, Systems
Management, and Applications Management for ISPs, Telcos and other E-
Commerce clients. Characteristics include: a superior command of
technology and architectural concepts; provides high quality
consulting expertise to clients; manages on-site projects and
deliverables; tracks status, expenses, billing and budget estimates;
provides client interaction and maintains a high level of customer
satisfaction and responsiveness. The successful candidate will work
independently on client engagements with minimal direct supervision
and may be required to oversee the work of others.

Essential Job Functions:

-Must have a good working knowledge of the UNIX operating system and
must have experience implementing network management solutions on UNIX
servers

- Experience with scripting languages such as Bourne shell, C shell
and Perl is a plus

- Experience with Java and XML is a plus

- Must have installed, configured and operated one or more of the IBM/
Netcool suite of applications.

- Knowledge and experience with Problem Management and Asset
Management toolsets is a plus.

- Familiarity with network/application operation and definition within
the OSI model including IP, TCP, UDP and ICMP

- Deep understanding of MIB data structures

- Work with client management and staff to integrate the client's
business objectives, current technical infrastructure and state of the
art technologies into enterprise-wide solutions.

- Design and/or assess operational processes for effective enterprise
wide network and systems technology management.

- Apply interpersonal skills to communicate with both technical and
business oriented individuals.

- Apply hands on experience in configuration and management of
Enterprise Technology Management.

- Apply prior experience with Service Level and/or Service Quality
Agreements.

- Apply prior experience in network systems and/or business
operations.

- Apply working knowledge of event correlation, interpretation of
alarm messages, rules scripting and programming languages.

Minimum Position Requirements:

Degree in CS, EE or related MIS field preferred as well as
certifications on various systems and network management products.
Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience required. A high degree of
interpersonal skill in working with various levels of technical and
business oriented individuals is required. Prior experience in a
consulting environment is preferred.
