I just learned that favicons can be changed dynamically (Opera and
Firefox)
http://softwareas.com/dynamic-favicons

I know, I should already have known about it...
http://www.personal.psu.edu/staff/a/c/ach12/tiddlywiki/extensions.htm

Given that both Opera and Firefos support data: urls
http://software.hixie.ch/utilities/cgi/data/data
using favicons could lead to some interesting uses (dirty/saved,
tiddlyspot'ed/local, read-only/read-write, reminder...)

Sigh! How do I miss having some hacking time... :-(

Funnily enough, that favicon article is by a very clever chap named
Michael Mahemoff who is a colleague here at BT.

Cheers

Here's a very quick proof of concept:
http://fnd.lewcid.org/svn/TiddlyWiki/plugins/DynamicFavIconPlugin.js

Are we certain that this only works in Opera and Mozilla-based browsers?
(Not sure which browsers support Base64-encoded data streams... )
