Hi, I am really frustrated! I have used Tiddlywiki for years and love
it. But, now, it has stopped saving backups (the savebackups box is
still checked) and additionally I am often unable to open my
tiddlywiki file from my desktop. This is really concerning...and
lastly, the program is autosaving main tiddly page, but, how do I open
that from my pc? I am pretty computer illiterate and I am wondering if
I need to download the whole thing again to fix this, but, I am
concerned that doing so will delete all of my current tiddlers.
Thanks,Carol

Hi Carol,

Don't worry, it's probably something small. I have some detail questions:

What do you mean unable, exactly? You see the file, but
double-clicking doesn't do anything? The browser starts up, but you
get an error notification instead of your TW?

How do you mean autosaving main tiddly page?

/to be or not to be/ => /(2b|[^2]b)/ => /(2|[^2])b/ => /.b/
...optimise your regexes, people!

Thanks for your reply...First, when I create a new tiddler and try to
save it, I get this error message:
"It's not possible to save changes. This could be because your browser
doesn't support saving (instead, use FireFox if you can), or because
the pathname to your TiddlyWiki file contains illegal characters."
This seems to happen pretty often and with no rhyme or reason.
For the whole time I have used Tiddlywiki, I had it set to create
backup files each time I hit "save changes." About a week or so ago, I
downloaded the new version of Firefox and I am wondering if that is
what preceded these changes and glitches. Now, for whatever reason ,I
am able to open any of the saved backups, no problem but, unable to
save changes or create back up...I really appreciate your help with
this!

I do use Firefox...

And when I do save a tiddler, it sometimes, like now, allows me to
save the main tiddly page, but, "Failed to save backup file" appears
in a Javascript error window. Thanks again for any help with this!

Sounds like you might have some FF3 related problems:
