Hi Group,

I wonder whether there is a way to add Anchor's within a Tiddler. It
would be of great help to browse a large tiddler if one could list out
the headers as anchors, at the top. Twiki has the #Anchor syntax, and
it has a %TOC% variable too, which automatically creates a Table of
contents, linking to different sections in a page. Do we have some
thing of that sort in TiddlyWiki?

Thanks
Jeenu

Try searching this group for variations on TableOfContentsPlugin or just TableOfContents

IIUC, TableOfContentsPlugin gives instant access to a Tiddler.
Actually what I'm looking for, was a mechanism for navigating within a
Tiddler, probably a large one. Like I mentioned, Twiki does this
automatically by reading headings defined in a page (like the !!!'s in
TiddlyWiki), if you define a variable %TOC% inside it. Something
similar, or any plugin that does it here?

Don't know if this will do what you need, but it doesn offer a way to
access sections of a tiddler via a macro

Hi Jeenu,

I'm sure Saq meant DcTableOfContentsPlugin:

This macro will insert a table of contents reflecting the headings
that are used in a tiddler and will be automatically updated when you
make changes.

Find it here:

Oops, never mind, that plugin doesn't have anchors yet. It isn't
finished yet. FND is too busy answering qs here to finish it...

Yeah, this looks like the one I'm after - except for hyper links. I
have to wait until it's fully developed. Thanks for the reply folks!

I think if you try installing this http://devpad.tiddlyspot.com/#DcTableOfContentsPlugin you will find that it is exactly what you need. Its not properly installed in that TiddlyWiki so you can't preview it properly.

Eureka! This is cool; TOC with hyper links and [top] link beside each
section. Thank you Saq.

When I added this to my TW, the plugin manager told me it has "illegal
XML characters." Any idea what is wrong?

I`ve basically stopped developing my ToC plugin after discovering there`s already a superior implementation.
Also, it`s always been more of an eternal prototype / proof of concept than a finished product, like so many of my plugins...
