This may be a completely impractical idea, but I'd love to be able to
properly meet some of the people who have helped so much with
TiddlyWiki over the last few months. I wondered if there would be any
interest in trying to arrange a dinner for people contributing to or
interested in TiddlyWiki?

Perhaps in late September or October (a fun date would be September
20th, the anniversary of TiddlyWiki's first release). Given that
everyone is pretty much scattered over the planet, and I'm here in
London, I thought unilaterally that London would be the best venue :-)

Hopefully that would at least suit Jonny and Keith, and perhaps people
from further afield with more AirMiles than they know what to do with.

What do you reckon? Can I induce any of you to come? Email me directly
if you're not a member of the group (or just join the group, of
course).

Cheers

Jeremy.

10% chance that I could make it on the 20th.
I assume that a virtual dinner is not quite the real thing?

Surely a microwave meal is far more efficient and in line with the
groups modus operandi?

Perhaps a kebab in the street!
;)

20th sounds good to me ... if the waiters get difficult we can just
remind them that "the client-side is always right" ;-)

Drat the distance... The Gmaps pedometer[1] tells me that my bike won't make it. While a virtual dinner would be excellent, I think the getting to know other TW folk on a more personal level would be wonderful. I love the candid digital photos that turn up from these kinds of thinks.

What does everyone think about throwing together a sort of tiddlyRoster so we can at least find out where everyone is hailing from?

If we all stopped working on TW and devoted our time to sorting out how
to make a self-contained client-side teleprecense system, a virtual
dinner would be much more feasible.

London /is/ a nice venue, though its too bad that its so far away from
the rest of America... :P
