SPAs are easy to share as includable spaces, since they more or less independent of whatever else is in user's space: just instruct the user to add the space in their space admin.

TiddlyWiki "mods" or "total conversions" (TCOs) like mGSD are harder to share because other included spaces or existing tiddlers can interfere with the TCO.

I'm maintaining an includable copy of mGSD for use by TiddlySpacers at mgsd.tiddlyspace.com

To use it you should:
  1. Create a new, empty space such as MYUSERNAME-mgsd
  2. Visit MYUSERNAME-mgsd.tiddlyspace.com/_space to prepare the space
    • Reset the space, to remove any automatically created color palettes etc which WILL interfere with the TCO
    • Remove all included spaces
    • Add "mgsd" as the sole included space
Now you have a shiny new TiddlySpace-hosted mGSD that will be automatically receive future updates.

I'd like to reduce this process to:
  1. Visit http://mgsd.tiddlyspace.com
  2. Enter a new space name (but default to yourusername-mgsd)
  3. Hit "create". All the steps above are performed (no reset needed though)
Has anybody worked on such a workflow?

Even better would be an external interface with a catalog of available TCO-style apps. Choose your app, give it a space name, and hit Create

I dug into this a bit more and have more concrete requirements.

mGSD has two types of tiddlers:
 - code
 - initial data

Initial data are tiddlers tagged with a tiddler which is tagged GTDComponent.

I'd like a "Create a new mGSD space" recipe which:

 - creates the space
 - sets the included spaces to only the app space (mgsd)
 - copies the contents of another space containing the initial data to the new space

Does that seem sensible? Any known security restrictions which would prevent this from working?

It appears it all boils down to the concerned listening end ...to listen.

Best wishes,

Hi Eric,

It appears there has been no response yet. So, I was indicating that whomever you directed your request at either does not listen or does not respond ...which, unfortunately, appears to have been true ever since Jeremy and Chris left Osmosoft.

Best wishes,
