I started collecting bike paths I rode using Google Earth, and put the
collection under my web page:
http://www.expandingknowledge.com/Jerome/Bike/Main.htm#Path_USA_CA
For those who don't already have Google Earth (its free):
http://earth.google.com/

I learned yesterday that I can also import those path into Google
Maps, but I was not impressed with some bugs I found (not all path
import, and resolution of the path seems downgraded, no path folders).

If you have paths to share in Southern California, send them my way, I
can add them to the collection.

Happy rides,
Jerome

Jerome,

This crankfire guy does miracles with gps trail mapping:

http://www.crankfire.com/trails/trail.php?trailid=40

you can upload your own data to his site. add photos, and other
useful info. Like where to park a car.

Best,
Joe

PS you can attach photos to messages sent to this group in emails.
Looking at your expandingknowledge site I got the impression you
didn't know this.

Thanks Joe,

I updated the "Best Forum" comparison chart, adding links to the
method and example for attachments:

Now I am torn between this forum and the other (I won't say the name).

I enjoyed looking at crankfire.com and it is nicely setup for
collaboration. At this point I will keep using Google Earth since it
is a more widespread application and has more detailed imagery. I also
stareted indicating possible parking locations (P symbols), and we can
add pictures. CrankFire.com reminds me of what we have for
paragliding:
