WARNING: Nostalgic Rambling Follows
So, looking over the Threads web site, I was surprised to find that
I've literally attended every single game of Threads. I produced
scenario material for every game besides the very first one, despite
originally knowing at most a handful of people in the campaign when I
began, and having never played in an adventure-style campaign.
Most importantly, I made a LOT of friends along the way, right up to
*this very weekend*, for which I will always be grateful.
I introduced Danzig in the second game of the campaign, tho it took a
while for that plot to come to a boil. The Hive was technically
introduced via my own player character in the first game, tho there
wasn't a scene until several games later. The LA game -- the sixth
game of the campaign -- is when I started producing scenarios in
earnest. The seventh game, New Celtia, is when player characters
misgated to the Hive to be confronted by a naked all-male cast, and we
made the clothed people feel weird rather than the other way around.
(Also, as that was one of the few early nude scenes to feature male
rather than female nudity, IIRC nearly everyone who signed up for that
scene was a woman. Also, I'm never getting a Brazilian Wax for a LARP
scene ever again.)
I've written about 110 scenarios for this campaign, and served as the
primary author for four games. I say this not to brag or complain, but
to explain how tired I am. :)
Tired as I may be, it was the players, cast, and staff who did the
real work, and made this campaign the amazing and insane ride that
it's been. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Please keep in touch. If you know of any LARP (or even tabletop)
campaigns or one-shots that are happening, please keep me in mind. I
really, really like the idea of playing more and running/writing a LOT
less. :)
