Hey Lovers,

I have been having So much fun lately. The music is getting So exciting. I think it's the energy that it creates. Of course, I'm there start to finish...and I get to watch what happens to the crowd as it becomes this life-force, with a mentality all it's own. It ebbs and flows like an amoeba....from the black lagoon....snicker. There's all kinds too....peoples with attitude...with baggage...with sexual attitude....with sexual baggage. It all adds up to a bunch of crazies getting all liquored up, and making the circle flow that is the bar-life. Me, on the other hand.....I'm stuck in my own little world....control freak that I AM....and it's me controlling the little musics of the night. Course they, the little musics... are really big musics....they are powerful, powerful messages. They also have lives of their own, and they create an energy and a sexualness that makes Some people do some Stuff....and stuff. They create a chaos, a melee, that once it starts it goes where it goes. No stopping it 'till it's over. Sometimes spirits are moved....sometimes it's the bodies. Sometimes minds are touched....sometimes it's the hearts. I'm always talking to them....sending out subliminal messages that make you go hmmmmm. One of my fave quotes, is from Robert Ashley's "The Bar.'' And he says...."....Short ideas....Repeated....Massage the brain." Boom Tsst, Boom Tsst, Boom Tsst, Boom Tsst.

I AM .....Truly....Blessed. Blessed with the gift of music. I say it's a gift, because I don't know how this comes out of me without the help of a higher love. I mean who else could have made Me a great programmer of music? I thank God every day for giving me this gift. The Higher Love!! And, thank You, for allowing me to share it with my small universe. Because this music is much bigger than I am. I am only the vessel. I give it back the way it's given me. I only put the music in the bag....the way it comes Out of the bag is entirely up to the creativity given me In the chaos. Creativity In Chaos....that's the only way I can explain it.

This night I had all kinds of people come up to me, and ask, "What's got into you tonight?" And, say things like...."You have lost your mind,' and 'Where, are you going tonight." I don't exactly have the answer to any of those questions. The music plays itself. All I do, is start it with a song. Then one song leads to the next one...and the next one. I can only think a song or two in advance. It flows out the way it flows Out. And over the night, it will most likely take a few twists and turns. I only collect the music that I love. I let the LOVE of it, put order to it. It's my "Style." I don't think there's anybody who would play the same records the same way. It would just sound different. If fact....I have to confess.....What I think is one of the greatest compliments paid to me....and the music that I play....IS....people come into the room All the time....and tell me...."Before I could even see who was spinning....I could tell it was you (that'd be me>)." I don't know exactly what that means....and I hope it's a good thing....but, I take it as the highest compliment that anyone could give a DJ....because that means that I actually DO have a "Sound." I can't even give it a name...I just know that when I go out....I don't hear anybody else playing the same music. It must be the way I connect drums and basslines...and vocals and breakdowns...in a way that makes some sense. I am a dancer from way back in the day....so now, I play the music that I would want to hear if I was on the dancefloor. In my room of course. And, I have no doubt that I have some kind of story to tell. Too much musical history not to. You can hear my roots in the classics that I drop time to time. It's all in the bag....it just comes Out that way. Different night to night. That story being....I play the party. I play the Room. The crowd that's there at the time. The sound system. Some of the songs may even be the same night to night....and the energy can be totally different. I'm not sure if it's the order of the songs....or the pitch....or the vibe in the room. What ever it is....They. Make me DOIT.

So this set....started out a little rough....As I started with something like Etta James and Amy Winehouse, maybe some Al Green....but I had a song in mind...with an intro...and I couldn't for the life of me find it in the bag....(Until about 3 hours later.) Don't ask. So that didn't happen and I had to find another. Which is were we start here. The last podcast posted was a come down set....So, This one is a come UP set. Different night, probably a different feel. It is what it is....I just felt like it was a good one...and that You needed to hear it. So, crank up the volume....make yourself a strong cocktail....and powder the floor. This ones Sexxxxxy. Part two might be coming....I just need to hear back about one of the tracks first. (*re-snicker).

So, till the next time we get together. Make it a good one. Tell somebody you love 'em. Play safe. And holla at me if we're close. And, if you are in a club and the music is bumpin', seek out the DJ and tell them that you are diggin' what he/she is serving.
