Some of you are emailing Matt and I regarding this weekend’s weather and if there will still be a race.  Matt talked to Julie and she has a plan to ensure your safety if the weather deteriorates enough.  (See Julie’s email with details of their bad weather safety plan).

 

Normally the protocol is to cancel a race when any severe weather is in the area, including but not limited to tornados, large hail, massive rains causing flash flooding, very strong winds, lightning and of course other severe weather events. Usually the event if called off is done so mutually between the event director and the chief official.

 

I’ve pulled the weather forecast for Wichita Falls for the weekend.  See link below.  According to the Weather Channel, Saturday is expecting a high of 81, partly cloudy and windy with a 20% chance of rain.  Sunday’s high will be 73 and 50% of rain with scatter T-storms.
