Hello. I had a drink with Eric J Adams recently and he recommended
that I join this group to be able to plug into the media scene here. I
hear that you meet once a month and would love to have chance to come
along and meet you all.
Allow me to tell you a little about myself with the hope that I can
get some of you to come over and have a chat with me at the next
meeting. Although Eric assured me he wouldn't ignore me, it may have
just been the beer talking politely.
I married a fabulous woman from Petaluma and shipped her across the
Atlantic for 5 years. Now I have a green card and a wife.
My media life began with a documentary about teenagers with cancer in
the UK. But my career really hotted up whilst on holiday in West
Africa and I was given the offer to make a music video. As a
consequence, I didn't come back for a year and a half and whilst
living there, I made everything from commercials to TV series. During
the last 5 years, I made factual entertainment programs for the likes
of BBC, Discovery and Sky. And the last thing that I did in
preparation for my imminent emigration was to work with one of the
UK's top ten digital communications agencies which produced PR/
industrial content, live events and cross-platform media.
Pictures are where my passion lies and my training as a British TV
cameraman means that I love to roll up my sleeves whenever I am not
directing or producing programs. Sometimes, I do all three, although I
know that is not as common here in the USA. Ultimately, I am
interested in meeting other members who might need my skillset for
their productions and I would be very interested in finding out what
rates your members can offer for the hire of equipment and
facilities.
Lastly, I would like to see what I could offer the group. I have
always made time to be a technical trainer and have designed
syllabuses and ran workshops for hundreds of students. So please let
me know if you have any topics that you need covered and I will see if
I have enough of that knowledge to be able to teach it.
Looking forward to hearing from you (and seeing you if I get invited).
Best wishes. Vince Beeton (
