Valerie,
Thank you for sending your email below.
I apologize for the delay I was out of the office yesterday but wanted to make sure to respond.
Yes, we are considering all of the information below and looking into several ideas for the Board’s review.
Please note we are very motivated and eager to come up with a solution that will be pleasing to the HOA and tennis community.
We are working on coming to a solution as soon as possible and will be posting tennis rules once we come to a resolve on what the rules will be.
In the meanwhile, please encourage others to send me ideas on how to monitor the courts and protect the investment made.
I am open to the community’s thoughts and ideas and will be considering all with the Board.
Thanks again and have a great evening.

Subject: Tonight's Board Meeting
Hi Tiarra,
Unfortunately I will not be able to attend tonight's HOA Board meeting, but I would like to submit an open item topic on my behalf and my fellow resident tennis players' suggestions at the Met.
Locking the courts continues to be a SERIOUS safety issue. I have personally had to weave in and out between cars with tennis equipment in hand to get to the Security Guard booth to get a key for a court. I do NOT feel safe doing this, and I think it is just a matter of time before we have an unthinkable accident. WHY are we risking the safety of our owners when there are other safer, more reasonable, and viable solutions?
Here are some which other owners have suggested. We strongly hope the Board will consider some of the following suggestions:
1. If we can't get around locking the courts, distribute a key to the owners who REQUEST one; have them fill out a signed authorization and even pay a minimal deposit for the key. Lost or stolen keys would require another deposit. This way the people who actually want to play tennis will be the ones making the effort to obtain a key and use the courts. Tennis players should not be penalized for the carelessness of other people who are not respecting this amenity.
2. Hang a clipboard on the inside of each tennis court gate so that tenants can place their access card for ID. Security can monitor the cards as they make their rounds.
3. Post the " Tennis Court Rules" below on the front of each court. This makes the rules clear,. and those who play will respect the rules. (That's what we players love about tennis; it is a sport about respect and civility.)
4. Lastly, please remove the locks. Aside from the extreme inconvenience forced upon owners who simply want to enjoy an amenity which we PAY for, this "remedy" to a few past isolated incidents has created more problems and is NOT solution-oriented. Locks are sending the wrong message and are creating a police state in our community. We do NOT want our security taking the needless time required to issue keys, monitor time on the courts, banter with players and hunt down those who have not returned keys. This is NOT what we want our Security focusing on! We want them to continue to monitor the safety of our community!!!!
Thank you and the Board for your consideration.
