Different rules in different bldgs

Just a precurswr to my thaight process... i seem to get a warning about wvery little thing that can be complained about. i the most extreme examplw i have is a warning about my sparkletts delivery sitting at my front dorr, they stated tht at no time trash is allowed outaide your door(new freah bottles may i remind you).

I've had my struggles with the HOA and so far I've ended up on top... But this is about something I noticed tonight. tonight I went for a small walk. In the bldg I live, plants are not permitted in the hallways and laundry room promptly locked at 11pm. (In some cases 10 with your laundry still in the dryer) but in bldg 16, plants are a common occurance in the hallways. As well as their laundry open, and in use (3am). Certain bldgs seem to be allowed to have massive amounts of plants and in one case, Xmas lights i march. But when these exsist on my balcony or hallway for one hour, I get a warning.

Can someone please explain how I can get this differential treatment.

Spear - I have often wondered the same thing walking around the complex and seeing so many violations but my conclusion is that if you live in an area that is highly visible to security than you are going to get warnings more often than a unit that may be on the 2nd, 3rd floor with less foot traffic.  Do you live in a unit with high foot traffic by security?

I think this issue not only arises with different buildings but with certain units as well.  I know for a fact that the security is friends with one of my neighbors and so they don't get warning notices because security doesn't report them.  They have trash in front of their unit for days at a time.  I had a cleaning crew at my unit and they placed a bag outside my door that they took out 45 minutes later when they finished yet I still got a warning letter.

The security is very biased and not always effective at what they do.

I do live near a back door but I have never seen security walk by my place. But this goes past visibility. The fact that standard operations, such as locking the laundry doors, is ignored for some buildings.

I agree. I feel they do target, and exclude certain units.

I too have no doubt that our HOA office practices selective enforcement of rules. This is a bad representation of Ross Morgan. This kind of discriminatory practice has to stop.  They need to have a staff meeting with whom ever they use to do these walk by inspections from the outside. I've lived here for over 6 years, and i can tell you without a doubt our HOA takes part in this selective enforcement of rules. It seems like different rules for different buildings. It would also help if they used people who use English as their first language, because i get warnings for stuff that makes no sense.

Being the recipient of a few warning letters, some of which were accurate, I do try to pay attention to the rules. However, after living here for just over a year, I am now getting the feeling I am being 'targeted'. I have photograph evidence of other residents who are apparently guilty of the same things I am receiving letters about. I shall be bringing up these matters with the Board. Overall, I think the rules are good and that is why the Met is such a nice place to live. However, the rules have to apply to everyone.

The things you all are complaining about, Security has little or nothing to do with. The HOA does walk-throughs of the buildings and spots those violations, and I also suspect that other residents report those same kinds of violations. If you are getting warning letters and your neighbors are not for the same things, it is highly likely that you have a busybody in your building who reports every little thing in an effort to play the "building cop", as it were. I had the same thing happening to me, except that I NEVER have anything sitting out in front of my unit. After having to write several letters of apology to me ( I insisted on that) to rescind the violation letters, I quit getting them.Have you asked Ron who is reporting these violations?
