Playa plans & beyond

Hey Fringetastic Peeps!

your Fringe crew has been meeting about our playa plans this year and
are super excited about what we're going to accomplish at burning man
this year. we wanted to share the plans, the most current news, and
the excitement we have about our collaborations for our burn.

first off, The Fringe is assimilating, becoming one with, and otherwise
partnering up with The RedNose District in more ways than we thought.
in order to bring out a REALLY kick-ass sound system and have the money
we need to do some really exciting painting performance projects (say
THAT three times fast!), The Fringe has decided to combine forces
with RedNose, so the stand-alone Fringe theme camp on the playa has
disappeared this year...but there WILL be FRINGE PARTIES! and The
RedNose District camp, (located at 9:30 & A St) is welcoming our Fringe
community to pitch camp with 'em, as that's right where our sound system
will be located & our musicians bumping the beats on Thursday & Saturday
nites this year! If you're wondering how green it'll be, we're using biodiesel
generated power to pump our evolutionary music out to the playa this round.

so, what does that mean for you? well, if you want to still have a
really great community of folks & a larger participant camp experience,
then join up with RedNose--they are pulling out all the stops to provide
a really plush camp experience. they even have a deluxe meal plan
at $8/day & VEGAN too, for crying out loud! who knew clowns could

...and what about folks who DON'T want the full theme camp experience?
so, 1 block away from the RedNose (corner of 9:30 & A St.) will be a
non-theme area where the early birds will make a nest for the rest to
congeal & burn however you feel. there won't be any coordinated
camping efforts (read as: obligations!), total self-sufficient style of living.
If that appeals to you, grab your 'mates and head there (earlier the better,
as space will run out). as soon as the BRC '07 map is published,
we'll send a follow-up note with a PDF showing exactly where that spot
will be--stay tuned Fringe folk...

so this year on the playa is truly going to be something that we have
always wanted, but haven't been able to obtain which is: LESS WORK!
MORE FUN! we're going to throw some amazing and special parties this
year. if you want to be a part of the sound production or want to help that
any way, please contact MoPo & BigDollaBill to talk about how to pull
this off as an activated community! there are plenty of needs with our
parties and with RedNose...so there are lots of opportunities to help out!
