Hello Film Co-op members, workshop participants and friends;
Just a last minute reminder: The Black Maria Film Festival will be held this Friday starting at 7:30pm in the Flying Monkey Theater.
As yo may recall, we have always "Co-Hosted" this festival with the Huntsville Museum of Art, But the museum is undergoing remodeling and is unable to host the festival this year. So, actually, we are excited to bring the festival to you at our home at the Flying Monkey.
John Columbus, who founded the Black Maria Film Festival a few decades ago, will be present and able to discuss the films and answer your questions. We will not be under the strict time limit that we always had at the museum. The Black Maria was the world's first motion picture studio, founded by Thomas Edison. This festival honors that tradition but also keeps it alive with the most dynamic and diverse films you can imagine.
So please join us. Friday night at 7:30 at the Flying Monkey - It's only $7.
And remember, while we always have snacks and sodas at the Flying Monkey shows, you are always welcome to bring your own refreshments and snacks.
Sincerely,
Don Tingle
