Special Workshop - Feb 7, 2pm, Sound!

Hello fellow Film Co-op members, friends and workshop participants,

 

The Film Co-op monthly workshop will have a special guest presenter at our next meeting.  The meeting is February 7th at 2pm in my studio at the FLying Monkey.  Our special guest is Brian Gilbert, a professional sound man from Chattanooga, TN.  Brian has an impressive background working as a professional sound man for film and video production, recording studios, taught college level classes and has done work for BBC, CNN, HGTV, PBS and more.  Learn more about him at his website: http://bgilbertsound.wordpress.com/

 

Brian's specialty is Field Audio.  You know, collecting sound when you are out in the real world, rather than in the studio.  That's a problem area for all of us amateur or low budget filmmakers. And he understands that we don't have the high end gear he typically uses.  But he can show us how to use what equipment we each have to achieve better quality sound.  So bring your camcorder and any external microphones you may be using.  The workshop will consist of part presentation and part hands-on demonstrations.

 

I will be teaching a workshop at the Oxford Film Festival on Saturday and racing back home in time for Brian's workshop.  Please mark your calendars for Sunday, February 7th a 2pm.
