NEWS

Rebranding

In March 2010, the Forum for Emerging Arts Professionals changed its name to Emerging Arts Leaders DC. This aligns us with the national Emerging Leaders network and allows us to be more immediately accessible to newcomers to the group. You'll notice that we've also adopted a new logo to go along with this name change. We'll be using both names and logos over the next few months as we make this transition, but please don't be confused - we are still the same group!

2010 Leadership Exchange in Arts and Disability (LEAD) Conference
August 25 - 29
San Diego, CA
An international network engaging cultural administrators in a conversation on accessibility, disability and inclusion in the arts. LEAD 2010 presents us with an opportunity to look back uponthe past 10 or 20 years to see how our work to eliminate barriers and create welcoming, accessible and inclusive cultural experiences has ensured that people with disabilities and older adults can exercise their civil and human rights. It is also a chance to look forward and to discover new ways to address ongoing challenges and new questions. Legislation and regulations are updated, new technologies come and go, our audiences and their needs and wants evolve but the challenge to guide our communities and institutions in making choices that acknowledge the right of all to participate in the cultural arts – and to do so with independence, dignity and respect – remains.
