Corcoran and EALDC present DC Faces: Exploring the unique dynamics of DC's local and national art scene

In a city where so much attention is focused on the National Mall, the Smithsonian and other large-scale tourist attractions, what unique challenges do local arts organizations face in bringing visibility to their programs and exhibitions? Presented in partnership with Corcoran Gallery of Art, this panel investigates the ways in which organizations small and large, local and national are working together build a dynamic arts community in DC.
Panelists include: Lisa Gold, Executive Director of the Washington Project for the Arts; Ryan Hill, Director of Digital Learning Programs at the Hirshhorn Museum's YOUmedia Center; and Mariah Johnson, local artist and founder of Porch Projects.

Seeking Nonprofit Organizations Using Technology to Advance Their Missions
501cTECH and Accenture Metro DC are pleased to announce the 2012 Technology Innovation Awards. This award recognizes two nonprofits in the greater DC area whose innovative use of technology has improved key aspects of their operations, helps people build skills to succeed in the new economy, and more effectively fulfill their missions. Award winners receive a $7,500 cash prize, a Dell laptop or Apple iPad, and a Microsoft software package. Applications accepted from April 16th through June 25th. Interested in seeing your event promoted in our newsletter? Email us with your event name, a 50 word description and a link for more information. Please write "EALDC Promotion" in the subject line. Events must be appropriate for young arts professionals and take place in the greater DC area. Information must be received no later than the 25th of the previous month for listing in the upcoming month's newsletter. Final listing is at the discretion of Emerging Arts Leaders DC.
