I have had a winning cribbage streak since Jan. 13. Man, it seems like
I just can't lose. This Saturday will be a solid month of wins, if my
luck holds out. Cribbage has got to be the most fun a person can have
with both hands above the table.

What happened on Jan. 13?

And what will happen if you gain a solid month of wins? Is there a
prize? Perhaps a ticket to the layd authors Valentine special?

That's when my winning streak began. I won three games that fateful
Saturday, one skunk, and haven't lost a game since.

The prize is bragging rights. And what a grand prize that will be.
Somebody stop me. There was nobody at The Beans to play today. Don't
let the clock run out. Somebody, stop me.

My deck, hands above the table at all times, no kibbitzing. And no
spitting. C

And no cussin'. Plus, I'll have to examine your deck. There is a lot
at stake here.

Actually, I have nothing to lose. I don't like to see a man shakin'
in his boots over losing big stakes. Maybe I won't show up. Let Joe
have a go. Let the men battle it out. I'll stay in the kitchen.

Twenty six days of total cribbage domination. Two days short of a
month. It's just as well, as an occasional lose helps to keep us
humble. Humility lies at the very heart of good sportsmanship, which
is a very important element in the game of cribbage.

Pardon, but I thought the main purpose of cribbage, besides winning,
was to humiliate and ridicule your opponent. Clz

On the surface I can understand that it may seem like fun to ridicule
the loser. But there is the possibility that it will get out of
control, go too far. I find that it's best to point out to the loser
that we are both winners, in that we played an enjoyable game, and
encourage the loser to try again. As they say, better luck next time.
