I have facial skin matches in key 2 but not in key 1.

I have outer and inner lip matches in key 1 but not in key 2.

Eliza's Knapp Large Color Fan Matches

Natural "Greying" Hair Color:
Key 1- 1D49C King Bird
Key 2- 2D42C Ginger Tone
Best- Could not tell - need more regrowth.

Eyebrows:
Key 1- 1U50B Spice Brown
Key 2- 2UM39A Zodiac
Best- Key 2

Eyes "Overall" Appearance:
Key 1- 1U57B Deacon
Key 2- 2U40B Cambodia
Best- Both equally.
I have both colors in my eyes, and will look like either swatch when
the swatch is held near my eyes. A smoky grey or a smoky
blue-grey......could be a "Smoky Teal" with that combination, it is
grey and a greyed teal (?) combo.....what about those of you who have
the fan? Do you agree?

Skin "Flesh" Coloring:
Key 1- No Matches
Key 2- My lightest shades/tones were 2H51F Frosty Sherbert

Mid-range shades/tones were 2M51E Magnolia

Deepest shades/tones were 2M51D Mystic Beige

Best- Key 2

Skin "Red" Coloring:
Key 1- No Matches
Key 2- 2M50E Pogonia Rose
Best- Key 2

Palm:
Key 1- No Matches
Key 2- 2M50E Pogonia Rose
Best- Key 2

Inner Lip:
Key 1- 1U2B Bermuda Rose
Key 2- No Matches
Best- Key 1

Outer Lip:
Key 1- 1U2B Bermuda Rose
Key 2- No Matches
Best- Key 1

Pinched Fingertip:
I find this highly unreliable - I had SEVERAL matches from BOTH keys.

Off to see if there is an inner and outer lip match in key 2 on the
small fan!!

I had trouble accessing the SSymp too, but fixed it now.

Matching is hopeless for me too, I can find lots of matches in both
fans. I simply think the swatches are too small and that this method
cannot work unless your colors are more obviously cool or warm.

But the difference is evident when I drape and make up in the different
spectrums.

When I first got the fan, I picked lots of tops in the different
colors, and asked DH his opinion. He kept saying spectrum 2 without
hesitation. But since I thought I was cool back then, I would not
believe this, and instructed him to look for pale skin. My cheeks
should not look rosy (since this gives a more uneven impression than
paleness does) After having gotten the wrong instructions from me, he
started picking spec 1. At this time, my hair color was wrong, too.

Much later I discovered that spec 1 makes me look far too pale and
lifeless. It greys my skin, eyes and hair. This is best seen when I
dress up in spec 1 totally, both makeup and top. Spec 1 makeup sits on
top of my skin.

So my advice is to use the fans to pick different pinks and reds in
tops and makeup instead, you will probably fall into one spectrum then.

There is one great piece of advice in my Mary Spillane book. She
writes: To find out which spectrum you are closest to, simply ask:
which one looks more natural? This is esp easy with makeup, and esp
easy if you compare similar colors like a warm medium pink and a cool
medium pink.

I do agree with you in that most people can use almost all colors in
smaller quantites, though. But using large amounts of a color in the
wrong undertone can be less nice. So solid colored tops pluss
corresponding makeup should give you a clearer picture.

I will check out your eye matches to get an idea of how close your eyes
are to mine now. :) I think maybe you have some of my characteristics:
rosy skin which seems too cool for the typical orange colors, but still
looks yellow and a bit weird with cooler pinks and neutral grey, navy
and taupe. Slate eyes...this is neutral and very difficult to place in
one spectrum. But it is revealed when you try a blue spec 1 eye shadow
and a blue spec 2 - or green if your eyes are closer to that.

Yes, our eyes are similar. :) Up very close, inside in medium daylight,
both matches are good for me, too. But from a distance (one foot is
enough), my eyes have an overall appearance that is much closer to
strip 105 Norse Blue (spec 2).

BUT deep skin tone (faded tanned lower arm) is very different. There is
little red at all in my "old" tan. Closest match is strip 127 (spec 2)
, E and D.

Anne, I already know that I have absolutely NO skin-tone matches or
palm color matches in spectrum 1 AT ALL - therefore, I would definetly
classify myself as a spectrum 2. :)

I tested my most often worn makeup yesterday, and ALL of it is spectrum
2 and ALL of it matches my science 101 colors!! :D

But.... by the looks of it I could use quite a few spectrum 1 colors.
My color-treated hair is coming out spectrum 1 and my eyes are a mix,
perhaps that is why.

"Rosy" yes, my skin is a warm rosy peachy color - more pink than
orange, thusly why I cannot go too yellow without it looking badly! >:(

I did not do my inside arm - I will go and test that now, then I will
come back and let you know what I found out and I will post my makeup
matches. :)

Yep, we are quite similar, then. And the skintone matches might show
that while some consultants wanted you to be a Summer, they always
denied that for me, even after testing drapes. I am less rosy than you,
maybe except in my cheeks?

Yes, let's compare inner arms! (But warning: no daylight here now!)

Inside arm: same strip (127) - only lighter.

You were told a winter, yes?

>> Yes, let's compare inner arms! (But warning: no daylight here now!)<<

My inner arm:
Key 1- No Matches
Key 2- 2M48E Balsam Beige

My makeup matches:
Foundation- key 2 2M52E Sutton and 2M51D Mystic Beige

Rustica blush- Key 2. It toned with a few colors. 2D49C Copperglow,
2M50D Rose Garnet, 2U49B Rangood Red, 2D50C Congo Red

Bonne Bell Bronzer- Key 2. It toned with just about everything on
strips #123 and #124. The best matches were Rose Garnet and Dignity

Most often used eyeshadows of the moment- Key 2 Ginger Tone and Currant
Brown

Most often used lipliner- Key 2 Persimmon

My "Nude" lipcolor- Key 2 Copperglow

My most often used red lipcolor os Feisty, it matched a few colors in
key 2, but best matched Rangood Red and Brick

I need to check out Vixen and see where that belongs.......

As you can see, my makeup does match my science 101 colors VERY well!
:D Also, my colors are all what I would call rich, soft and smoky.

What do you think? How would you describe my science 101 colors? How
would you describe my makeup colors?

Lastly..... if you "had" to put me into a season, which one would you
and why??

OH! Forgot! What are all your sci101 colors, Anne? I want to look them
all up and see what you look like! :D

Yep, they said Spring when they saw me, then draped me in peach and
said eeek, then did a Summer-Winter draping and said Winter because
Summer was all too drab on me

Sci 101 colors now? Hoho, it's totally dark here now, so it's not
advisable to do that. :) But they are somewhere on the CC.

For you I would suggest Autumn (makeup choices), or maybe some
toned-down Spring (not sure since your dark dyed hair could make you
able to do a darker look than nature intended).

If a high contrast look is not great, and deep all over is better, it
should be Autumn. Why? I look awful in dark clothes and makeup, even if
I am a quite dark or at least saturated Spring. If Autumn did not work
well ( 80 -90% of the colors), then I would try Spring's darkest colors
and put them together in a low-contrast way. Autumn-like, if you know
what I mean.

What a beautiful color!! Your eyes are much clearer than mine then.

Other colors that can match my eyes (depending on lighting and what I
am wearing) are:
Exotic Green and Bison

The yellow in my eyes matches spun gold and sardonyx.

I also have a few random spokes of Garbo in my eyes.

I will look up your colors, Anne, when the CC gets back up and running
- how exciting!!

You would say Autumn then, for me? I can see where consultants got
Summer from, but 2 also said Spring...hmmmm......???

My best color depth is the bottom 2 on the strips. The 3rd colors up
from the bottom can be done as well but any lighter is too light.

Bottom 3 is very good on me, but 2 is okay too.

They look good on me in combos with brighter or darker colors. It must
be my Winter influence - contrasts are exciting on me. I can wear
darker jackets too, if they are spec 2 AND combined with light and
bright colors.

Your preferences indicate Autumn, at least in some systems. I would not
exclude Spring if I were you (due to skin color). I also remember a
description of "Clears" a long time ago that included grey or teal grey
eyes. With your choices now I think simply spectrum 2 is a good idea,
since seasonal systems are quite different.

I am going to concentrate on spectrum 2 and see how many colors could
work for me.
