Hmmm, if I did that leg break thing that Louise told us about,
correctly, then I am 33" from break to floor and 31" from break to
head..... 33+31=64 so, that sounds right. Long legged and short
waisted. ?

I think you are "just" balanced, EH. I have a difference of over four
inches, but I still don't look long-legged at all IMO. Maybe if you had
narrow hips, you would seem more long-legged, I don't know.

Corrected: I measured myself accuartely instead of just estimating from
standing on the floor by the ruler: the difference is six inches - 36
plus 30. I still do not look long-legged at all, just average.

Then do you have a long butt (rise)? That could account for you looking
average but measuring long.

Nooo...I don't think so. Actually, I think I have a lower rise. My butt
is almost like a circle viewed from behind. Did you look at my pics -
body types? I just think I look "average" because my hips are rounded.
They are not even esp. wide compared to my shoulders (they are
narrower). I think we are into Kibbe's q 1 here: How tall do you seem
to be? I don't seem tall or long-legged because my lower body is so
rounded, and my bust is "average", too. Hmmmm.

When I asked my friend and sis if I "Looked" longer from waist to head
or longer from waist to floor, they both did say "About the same, just
slightly longer from the waist down". That was done with me standing in
front of them with my hands on my waist for reference.

Hmmmm, maybe I am just nearly even.

OK, I went and played dress up at JC Penney's tonight. I found a full,
billowy type of skirt. When I wore it with a top that just skimmed my
waist I thought that I looked dumpy and heavy. When I wore it with a
wrap top that emphasized my waist I liked it! When I wore it with a
short, nipped in waist sweater jacket I liked it!

So....yes I can do full skirts with deppish folds (I think that is what
I tried on) as long as the top is fitted with waist emphasis! :)

I forgot to add that I tried on tops with shirring at the shoulders and
on the sleeves, and tops with tucks and gathers at the shoulders and on
the sleeves...... they were good! I liked them much better on me than
smooth and plain! :) I also thought that they made my sloping shoulders
look less sloping....hmmmm

Boy do pictures tell a thousand words! And some of those words I do not
like! >:(

I was recently sent some pictures of me taken at an event about a month
ago...... I look HUGE!! DAMN! LOL! I have a turtle neck, not the top
mind you, MY NECK looks like a turtles neck! LOL! My arms are huge and
my boobs look scary! 8-O

Wow is all I can say when I look at theses pics ...........<sigh>

Anyway, the up side to these pics is that it is SOOOOOOOO much easier
to be objective about what does and does not work on yourself when you
can see yourself in a pic! :)

I had on a lace top that is body skimming but not really waist
emphasizing. I wore a "Thin" (keyword here) beaded hip slung belt with
the top and had the top slightly "Bloused" (another keyword) out over
the belt.

What I noticed was that the "Thin" belt look insignificant on me, I
need wider belts! The other thing that I noticed was that doing the
"Bloused" or blousen look made me look shapeless and square. I need to
not do that look anymore, it is bad on me. >:(

The other thing that I noticed in this particular set of pics is that
my hair looks too flat for my body and it was wavy and full-ish that
night too.....:*(

Yesterday I went to Buffalo with my brother and a friend, and despite
my request to NOT BE photographed until I lose weight and no longer
look like a fat pig, a photograph or two was taken! >:(

Now, in these photos I do NOT look square, I look shapely, and that is
because I wore a very fitted top with flowing palazzos - good look! :D

However....... the top, once again, as in the previous pics I wrote
about, was SLEEVLESS and my arms look HUGE!!!!! Perhaps I need to forgo
the sleeveless until I loose weight. <sigh>

I also noticed, once again, that the boobage is scary.....suppose that
not much can be done about that right now. :*(

Now, in these pics my hair looks much better! It was VERY full and
wavy. YAY! :D BUT! I noticed that although I look much less like a
pinhead on a big body because the full hair balanced my head out, my
neck looked like it did not belong....... I looked like a bowling ball
sitting on top of a pin on top of a barrel! LOL!! so, I figured that
this means that I need to disguise the neck from looking too thin to be
on the body. I can do this by growing my hair to at least collar length
and keeping it permed and full. ;P

The other thing I noticed was that my necklace looked insignificant....
I need to upscale my jewelry a bit.

So, the summary is, that I NEED to do:
FORM FITTING TOPS
WAIST EMPHASIS
WIDER BELTS
MEDIUM SCALE JEWELRY
FULL MEDIUM LENGHTH HAIR

I should NOT do:
BLOUSEN
WAIST SKIMMING
THIN BELTS
SMALL SCALE JEWELRY
FLAT HAIR
SHORT HAIR

As much as I hate all these recent pics of me, at least they have been
eye opening and helpful in assessing what does and DOES NOT look good
on me with my current body. :)

Confirmed: Full skirts ~ARE~ better than straight.

Although sarongs and other drapey straight skirts are not horrible, the
fuller and flowing skirts are definitely better. :)

Pictures do tell the story don't they! Glad you're finding what works
though.
