What I *really* want is a coordinated small wardrobe that has only
pieces that go together. So I can wake up, shower and dress before I
start thinking straight. Today, for church I dressed three times. By
the third time it didn't matter what I was wearing because no one who
saw me would look past the runny mascara and red nose. I just HATE
HATE HATE looking crappy! If one dd didn't like the first outfit, the
other didn't like the second, and the third was a same old
sweater/skirt mix that match but are borrrrring. Tomorrow I'm checking
out Goodwill for some summer colored shirts (cheap), after we drop the
tom turkey off at the fair grounds for judging. But Larry says to quit
buying used stuff. He says that's why nothing goes together and wants
me to find a store that has a whole coordinated line. Ummmm....do you
think he has ANY idea how much that would cost? LOL!
Anyway, what stores would you recommend?

Oh, also decided to clean out the makeup drawer. I don't want a stash.
I want 1 lipstick, 1 blush, 1 foundation...and maybe 1 eyeshadow set
that I can make work with everything. I want that little drawer to be
nearly empty. I like CMAS's recommendation to have a red lipstick only
but also have a toner downer one so it will look warm pink or peachy
with those clothing colors. (no, she didn't say it that way...sheesh,
it's midnight and my brain has melted.) Of course that's assuming I
decide I'm spring still.

There are some nice colors in the summer palette that look warm. The
colors she recommends for Indian summer are almost all colors I
like...just not those purple reds and red purples, and maybe not mauve.
And I really like the browns.

*MAYBE* in the back of my mind I'm thinking about making a fast getaway and
want to be able to throw everything in a bag and fly!

Wow PJ! I didn't know you ordered the chinboard cards. And now you're
doubting summer? Lol, the only thing I was sure about with those cards
was that spring is not my main season! Too bright.
I have no suggestions for you where to shop, because I don't know what
kind of shops there are in your neighborhood.
But a coordinating line should be available in almost any shop, whether
it's pricy or not.
It seems to me that those purple reds and red purples + the mauves are
typical summer/winter colors. They look bad on me too. I figure that
you really have to be an absolute summer/winter to look good in these
colors.

Im with you PJ! SIMPLIFY! I am in that process myself.

I am not trying to take my hair brown anymore because it just fades out
to the auburn anyway, and more pics and a friend from high school have
confirmed that the auburn is damn close to my natural locks.......so
red is it for me I guess.

As far as the makeup goes, DO NOT kid yourself about one of this and
one of that, it seriously will NOT cover a whole wardrobe. Perhaps 2 of
this and 2 of that might be quite realistic. :)

Regarding stores: I like JC Penney's, that is my new favorite store,
don't know if you like them or not but I have good luck there. Also
Sears, believe it or not. And Burlington Coat Factory too! Now I am
sure you probably have a Penney's and a Sears near you, not sure if you
have a BCF.....?

Chin up! I know the feeling, I'm there with you. I put on sooo much
weight and I have soooo very little that I can wear. :*(

I Goodwilled a couple of more things just last night.

We can be wardrobe revamping buddies. :)

WOW how exciting, PJ! I have found that trusting close family in color
and style issues can be GREAT if you know that they want you to look
your best. In most families, this is the case :)

I am not posting at the moment because I am busy with vacationing and
taking hundreds of pics with my new camera Canon Power Shot A620, it's
soooo great! I had to buy this instead of the other Canon I wanted
(twice as expensive) but I am very, very pleased. I had close contact
with the big Norwegian sea eagle today :) but of course I did not keep
the camera ready then.

Makeup tests, PJ. I know the foundation test tells that you are warm,
but remember me. I have a warm forehead, cooler chin and a totally
incomprehenisble throat. :)

One of my MOST HATED colors...a color on the summer fan. But I see it
as matching my lips and cheeks.

I'm dealing with bad graphics on here, but from what I can tell (and
that is not much), I do not like it. Too blued. (?)

I have had something of an epiphany tonight.

I got out the best "warm" pinks in my closet...one I thought was salmon pink and my "perfect" HG light "warm" pink sweater I wear all the time, that makes me glow (The only pastel I can wear).
(Picture this with cool makeup instead.  Better?)

Both of those pinks are actually on the summer fan..they match it better than the spring fan.
I have a few more I suspect will be there too.  See, I never had the CMAS summer fan to compare, and so was matching things to the spring fan the best I could, not knowing they might have a better match.  ALL the blues and greens (except very pastel) on the summer fan I love.  And the browns are really great too.

OK.  I'm a summer.  I can see that now even with all the damaged red in my hair.  My hair MAY naturally have a golden cast which would put me in the summer with a spring flow.  We'll see.

As a whole I don't like the idea of mixing warms and cools. (Like CMBLYB does.)  But I will probably not stop wearing gold.  I'll just add some silver to my collection too.

Golden is warm not cool. Ash is cool..... (?)

I can wear several "Summer" colors..... dusty rose, cadet blue, sky
blue, mint..... those colors are "Traditionally" associated with
Summer. ;P

Yah, I'm feeling a bit cramped in my little box and will likely do spring
and summer for a while. LOL!

You very well may be both! You know that is possible. ;P

I over the past year have come to find out that I have elements of 3 in
me. I will use all 3. :) (at least that is my view at this point in
time)

I'm astonished! PJ not a Spring! What did I miss.
My colours are still all the same but I have been somewhat busy and
largely just far too hot, so sorry about not posting. I've been playing
a lot on Patternreview.com and sewing an unhelpfully fitting tunic
pattern which they've been giving me tips on. Hope you are all OK.
