So, we have a bunch of news to report from atop mt. Olympus...First of
all, the record is in the can. We finished tracking, it's been mixed,
and it's in the hands of the mastering gods now. They will apply the
final layer of goo to 13 songs of hot-Slat. That's good news.
We also have some kind of "mixed bag" news...Good news first - Slats
records will be available in a much wider spectrum of stores when it is
released. This means you won't have to beg your local indie store to
order the album and have them tell you, "Uh, we can't order it...or
it'll be here in two weeks."
So, here's the mixed bag part for those of you itching for the record.
Instead of fully releasing the full-length record this May our label
has decided to help us release some limited edition singles of songs
from the record. These will be released at shows in Iowa & Minnesota
during May and sold until they run out during tourdates this summer.
The full-length album is scheduled for an August release at this point.
These singles will ONLY BE AVAILABLE AT SHOWS. No stores, no online
orders, no special "can you ship me a disc because I sent you an email
and promised you a $1 million check...." orders (well, we might bend on
the $1 million offer, but you'd understand). So - go to the shows....
