A recent change in Medicare reimbursement, the increasing portability of medical tests and the large growth in elders at home have combined to create an environment ripe for the return of doctors’ house calls. Depending on where you live and the type of medical insurance you have, you may be able to have the doctor come to you (or to Mom and Dad). Doctors Making Housecalls provides home visits by board-certified physicians to people in the Triangle area of NC. They bill Medicare and other private insurance for the service provided and charge a (non-reimbursable) $85 trip charge. (The trip charge is waived for visits to certain community settings.) Visit http://doctorsmakinghousecalls.com/index.php to learn more about them.
Home doctor visits may mean more consistent, convenient, private and better-accepted medical care for those you love.
To locate physicians who make house calls in your area, visit the website of the American Academy of Home Care Physicians www.aahcp.org/physicianreferral.shtml#NC and click on your state, or contact your state’s medical association.

wishing you a wonderful week!
