The only certainty is our world comes to an end when our sun starts
expanding, but seeing as how that's not due to happen for a few
billion years, we should just plan to get to 100 years and live one
day at a time.

Happy holidays everyone.

Merry Christmas to Andy, Netmax and all group members!

For New Year I resolve to perform aquarium maintenance at least once
per month in 2013.

Happy New Year to you all....this year, like Denizen, I resolve to do regular tank maintenance!!!!
Also to continue putting my 6 footer back together with new plants and some replacement fish
for all those that have gone to the big tank in the sky over the past few years

Likewise, Happy New Year to all. I'm still here -- can one's status
turn to lurker after a long quiet period?

I have had little opportunity to post as I've had no tank issues. I
guess I could have kept up my running count of how many fish went to
the LFS.

No tank maintenance NY resolution for me, because breeding livebearers
gives me overcrowded tanks which *must* have maintenance every two
weeks or else.

I'm giving up on raising guppies. They're pretty, but it's just too
much trouble having a male-guppy-only tank so their tales don't get
damaged (and even so sometimes they damage each other).

I still have a few hundred sword tails in the pipeline. They're
finally starting to yield a largish percentage that I'd call
Pineapple. If I'm happy with the latest broods when they mature,
I'm going to stop breeding swordtails regularly and just run off a
couple broods a year and maybe only keep eight or ten on hand at a
time.

Then, once I've reduced all the populations through LFS trips or
attrition, I resolve to do less tank maintenance this year.

Frankly, MTS syndrome burn-out is making me think seriously about
exiting the hobby. Three to six hours out of every other weekend is a
pain.
