Greetings Gentle Ones:
Ahhh - the weather is warming, flowers are blooming, trees are budding - I think Spring has finally arrived.
I have finally completed my migration to the back porch but have been unable to work on my large landscape lately due to a busy, busy last two weeks. One of the things that has occupied my time is hanging a show at a new cafe that has opened up close to me. The French Connection Cafe has kindly let me hang quite a few pieces on their walls - I am including a few shots of the show.
No sooner had I returned from hanging the show that I got a phone call from the owner of the cafe. Apparently one of my largest paintings fell off the wall narrowly missing a little girl! Ironically, the name of the painting that almost did the child in is called "Guardian".
Another close call occurred last week during the monthly Live Model Sketch group. I had found two new models but only one had actually said she would come. So imagine my surprise when both models showed up! It was great to pose and paint 2 models but my mind was worrying over the double model fee I would have to pay - Yikes! Fortunately, one of the attendees volunteered to pay one of the models so it was not too great a burden on me. I am posting the quick oil studies that I did at that time.
A big "thank you" and a warm welcome to new collectors Wendy from Memphis, M. Barricello from Mass. and Gayle from Ohio. They all purchased their paintings from my eBay site.
Until next time, may you avoid all close calls! -
