Greetings Gentle People:
Maine went from dreadfully hot to cold and rainy, but everything is blooming and had taken on a lovely shade of green. Hopefully it will lend itself to some floral paintings later in the summer.
I am sending you progress pictures of the painting that I am currently working on. Lately, I have been using 24x36 dimensions - love the large canvases and those dimensions lend themselves to a good landscape composition.
In the first photo, you can see what looks like an abstract but it is just some really loose washes.
In the second photo, you can see where I have laid darker and brighter colors in and am moving things around to achieve a good composition - all the while keeping in mind where the focal point will be and how to lead the eye through the painting.
In the third photo - the actual scene is taking shape - I have incorporated the drips and abstract shapes into actual foliage and trees. There is still more to do, but right now I will put it up for a few days to dry and to study it - I am dangerously close to messing it up so now I must proceed with caution.
A warm welcome to returning collector Stephanie from Oregon and new collectors Joseph and Dave from New York State who all purchased their paintings from eBay.
Please take a few minutes to check out my blogs:
Peace and sunshine to one and all
