Lately I've been listening to some classical and instrumental music
during studying/researching e.g. Bach, Vivaldi, Beethoven, Francis
Goya, Yanni, etc. Great impact. I'm enjoying myself.
Now I'm wondering what kind of music do you guys prefer when you're on
high concentration-demanding tasks as above?

Thanks. What do you specifically suggest for Jazz? How about Bach's
music? What do you have in mind? How long do you play each? My own
study periods are 0.5 or 1 h.
Concerning Jazz:
** I love the music of Keith Jarrett and would especially recommend
the "Köln Concert" and "Paris Concert". Pure piano music, improvised
and really beautiful sound - great for a calm atmosphere.
** More lively and dynamic would be e. g. the music of french
accordionist Richard Galliano (http://www.richardgalliano.com) who
created a very interesting mixture of Jazz, Tango and french accordion
music (often called "new musette"). There are many albums he played
together with other Jazz musicians, I would recommend among many
others his albums:
"Blow Up" (with Michel Portal), "Face to face" (with Eddy Louis),
"Passatori" or "French Touch".
** Not really Jazz, but also great Music is the works of Astor
Piazolla (Tango nuevo) - the only tracks to avoid there are those with
singing, but most of its music is instrumental.
