1-26-2011 Thanksgiving Point Toastmaster Meeting Recap

Hello Toastmasters,

We had a great meeting yesterday, with Tommy T., Corrine, Steve, Dennis, myself and 2 guests: John and Travis in attendance.

 

Three of us gave prepared speeches:

Corrine gave her first speech (the icebreaker) from the Competent Communicator (CC) manual in which she told us about her favourite place to visit is San Diego.

Tommy gave his 5th speech from the CC manual about the current financial crisis.

I gave my 5th speech from the manual Speeches by Management in which I had to deliver bad news to a co-worker.  In this case it was Steve.  Thank you Steve for again helping me give my speech.

 

I evaluated Corrine, Steve evaluated Tommy, and Tommy evaluated me. 

 

The guests got to see a variety of speeches and evaluations.

 

The John and Travis and a few others participated in Table Topics.

 

We finished off by receiving the great news that John and Travis will be giving their Ice Breaker speeches next week and they will be joining our club.  I will be reviewing the matrix to see if I can give out roles to fill up the agenda. 

 

Yesterday was the best meeting in this new year.  We are growing as a club and lets keep the momentum going.  Tom and I will visit the building(s) across the street early next week to see if we can get more members.
